Year-View in Google Calendar
I was looking all over the net to find a calendar, wich could show more than one month at the same time. I sometimes like having an overview of whats going on and how much time I have left to visit people for example – for that I need it visually in front of me.
Ok, I do have Google Calendar, all my meetings and everything is in there – but now way of showing more than one month. Import to iCal doesn’t help anything, still only one month. Lightning from Mozilla, Calgoo and whatever i looked at – no chance. Why?
Still, I do need it and want it. And not only me, theres lots of threads out there on the net in which people ask for a possibility…
I didn’t find the yearview, but I found a fast and acceptable workaround:
Go to your Google Calendar, click on Settings and find the Point where it says: Embed this calendar. If you now click on “Customize the color…..” you can choose out of several options. What I recomend here is a size of about w:400 and h:between 300 and 600 (depends on how many calendars you want to show in the end. If you make it 600, you can in the end see three appointments a day.
For me, in the yearview / several months view only the whole-day-appointments matter, so 600 is more than enough. Up to you to decide.
Now just copy the html-code and paste it several times into a text-document (every one lets you see one month in the end), save it as *.html and open it in firefox or safari or whatever you use.
I have a widescreen display (12″) and can easily look at three months at the same time – even four is still comfortable.
Have fun planning your summerholidays =)
